Scope

To add support in Media-Independent Handover (MIH) framework for management of multicast groups.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to enable the handover for a group of users across the same or multiple access networks. Additionally, this standard will define mechanisms to secure multicast MIH protocol exchanges.

Abstract

Amendment Standard - Active.Mechanisms to enable multicast group management for MIH services is specified in this standard. The specification defines management primitives and messages that enable a user to join, leave or update group membership and security mechanisms to protect multicast communication.
