Full Description

This method describes three procedures for determining the flash point of waxes, polishes and related materials.

The procedures outlined in par. 3.1 and 5.1 apply to liquids with a kinematic viscosity below 5.5 mm¿/s at 40C; or below 9.5 mm¿/s at 25C, and a flash point below 93C.

The procedure outlined in par. 4.1 applies to liquids with the following properties: a kinematic viscosity of 5.5 mm¿/s or more at 40C; a kinematic viscosity of 9.5 mm¿/s or more at 25C; a flash point of 93C or higher; a tendency to form a surface film under test conditions; or containing suspended solids.
