Full Description

This standard specifies requirements for two types of sweeping compound used on floors prior to sweeping to reduce dust.

Type 1 compound is suitable for floors in locations where oil is undesirable, for example, garages, platforms, machine shops and warehouses. It is not recommended for use on waxed wooden floors or on composition and resilient floors in hospitals and offices. Type 2 compound is suitable for use on composition and resilient floors in locations where sand and oil are undesirable.

The testing and evaluation of a product against this method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this standard has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate health and safety practices in conjunction with any existing applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use.
