Full Description

This standard states the requirements for mildly abrasive and heavy-duty scouring powders produced for housework use.

Type B scouring powder is primarily intended for use on enamel surfaces (e.g. sinks, bathtubs, stove tops), toilet bowls and urinals. It may also be used for cleaning kitchen utensils and equipment, and with caution, may occasionally be used on marble, glass, ceramic tile and terrazzo surfaces. Type C scouring powder is primarily intended for use on kitchen utensils with either metallic or enamelled surfaces, and it should never be used on other enamelled surfaces unless specifically recommended.

For more information on intended uses, see CAN/CGSB-2.34.
