ANSI/INCITS 208-1996

Defines a notation for describing the structures of data volumes, files, records and fields to facilitate the moving of data files between computer systems. Provides a generalized syntax for describing the data records, but does not restrict nor define their contents. This standard was listed in the May 3, 1991 and April 2, 1993 issues of Standards Action. It is being resubmitted for a third public review due to substantive changes to the text.
