NSF Iodine-2002

This document has been prepared to allow toxicological evaluation of theunregulated contaminant iodine in drinking water, as an extractant from oneor more drinking water system components tested under NSF/ANSI 61 (2002) oras a contaminant in a drinking water treatment chemical under NSF/ANSI 60(2002). Iodine has also been evaluated as a drinking water treatmentchemical for direct addition to water under NSF/ANSI 60 (2002). Bothnon-cancer and cancer endpoints have been considered, and risk assessmentmethodology developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA)has been used.
