This ETR specifies the standardization programme to be executed by ETSI and CENELEC with the objective of developing harmonized EMC standards for telecommunications equipment/installations/networks, satellite earth station equipment and radiocommunications equipment. This ETR has been produced in response to, and to satisfy, the mandate BC-T-319 to develop a coherent work programme for the establishment of harmonized standards laying down technical specifications related to electromagnetic compatibility. These technical specifications will be the co-ordinated technical elaboration of the essential requirement related to EMC of Directives EMC/Terminal/Satellite, whichever are relevant for the equipment concerned. The harmonized European standards (harmonized ETSs and ENs), developed in accordance with this programme or future extension(s) thereof, may -after their reference has been published in the CE Official Journal- be used to demonstrate presumption of conformance with the essential requirements related to electromagnetic compatibility of the above Directives, whichever are relevant for the equipment concerned. The harmonized standards which are to be developed under the terms of this programme will consist of: - new standards; - re-issue of already existing standards, amended where necessary to cover the essential requirements of the Directives related to EMC; - a combination of the two above.
