1. Purpose and Scope

1.1 This test method is intended for assessingthe resistance of the color of textilesof all kinds and in all forms whenexposed to atmospheric oxides of nitrogenas derived from the combustion ofnatural gas. Exceptions are noted in11.8.1.

1.2 This test method may be used forrating colorfastness of dyes by applyingthe dye to textiles by a specified procedureand at a specified depth of color andtesting the dyed textiles.
