Purpose. This specification defines the Design Validation (DV), Product Validation (PV), and Post Validation Audit (PVA) requirements for a mechanical Thermal Bypass Valve (TBV).

Applicability. This specification defines the minimum requirements for Thermal Bypass Valves in passenger car transmission oil cooler systems. This specification applies to all global vehicles.
