A study of municipal water use in four Vermont municipalities was commissionedin 1996 by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation to make a preliminary assessment of the future adequacy of municipal water supply systems in the state and the benefits and costs of conservation measures to sustainably and cost-effectively meet growing water demands. The results of the study with respect to unaccounted-for water are presented in this paper. Includes tables.
