Full Description

The objective of this research was to determine whether isotherms can be used to predict the capacity of field-scale GAC systems for synthetic organic compounds (SOCs). The approach involved the operation of a GAC pilot plant at Jefferson Parish, LA, to obtain capacity data under typical field conditions, determination of isotherms for selected SOCs in Jefferson Parish water, and comparison of the capacity predicted using isotherm data with the pilot-plant capacity data.
