Full Description

The author believes that, by undertaking innovative programs, resources management agencies such as the Bureau of Reclamation can help the nation meet its future water resource needs. For the purposes of this paper, the author has divided opportunities into five major areas: increasing the usable water supply; more effective and efficient use of our existing supplies; improved water resources management; improving environmental compatibility; and research and technology transfer. Where appropriate, significant activities being implemented by the Bureau of Reclamation are presented as examples of the types of programs the author believes will be applicable in the future.
