The AWWA Water Industry Technical Action Fund involvement in radionuclide regulations is reviewed. Issues that needed to be addressed by the WITAF are summarized, along with a summary of the projects the WITAF initiated to address each issue. These include the issue of home air improvement by centralized treatment; the national cost of the radionuclide regulation; a risk analysis study; a study of the effects of showers; and is there a basis for a legal challenge to the rule?
