Recent developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) are creating new options for developing non-linear process and forecasting models which are adaptive and execute quickly. These qualities make AI algorithms well suited for use in supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. The paper explores 3 specific applications of neural networks in water distribution systems, and their integration into SCADA applications designed to reduce operating costs.
